Arcand Townhouse - a new house on the Boston waterfront at Union Wharf

A local restaurateur and business colleague [Water’s Edge, Pasta Pronto and Festa d’Italia] purchased, as an investment, an end-view, raw shell at the newly-constructed Union Wharf on Boston’s waterfront.  Suddenly married, and with child on the way, he decided to make his investment his permanent home.  Union Wharf, although brand new construction, was designed to look “historic”, which added to the difficulty of developing the flowing, modern floor plan that the client hoped for - “traditional modernity”.  The structural drawing shows the crowning glory of this town home - rather than the two discrete decks shown in the floor plan, a larger cantilevered deck was built that allowed for a complete wrap-around deck, barely visible in the aerial photograph.
